Migrate to Graphon Storage

Copy your objects to Graphon Storage and connect your application.

View as Markdown

Copy objects from your current storage to a Graphon bucket. Keep the source available until you verify the copied data and test your application with Graphon.

Prepare the destination

Create a Graphon bucket and an API key that can write to it. Check the supported operations in the S3 API reference against the operations your application uses.

Connect your storage

Configure your current storage as an rclone remote named source. Configure a separate graphon remote with the rclone settings in the S3 API reference. Keep each remote's credentials separate.

Copy objects

Replace the bucket names below with your source and destination buckets. Use copy to transfer objects without deleting destination objects that are absent from the source.

Copy objects

rclone copy source:source-bucket graphon:destination-bucket --progress

Verify and switch your application

Review transfer errors. Compare object names and sizes, then download objects from Graphon and compare their contents with the source. Test the reads and writes your application needs before changing its storage endpoint and credentials.

If your source still accepts writes, account for those changes before switching your application. A copy does not keep the two stores synchronized.
